” Every day on the campus of ALC is like a blessing, with active learners and talented teachers and staff members around.

It is indeed amazing to see a learner beginning to understand and speak (and write) in a new language. This the beginning of frienship!”

History Of ALC

Assumption Language College (ALC) was established on July 6, 2009

Its original goal was to respond to the need for language instructions of religious learners from China as they prepared for higher theological studies in the Philippines.

The College was originally named Assumption Language Center.

It initially had three teachers and six learnerss, who had a three-hour class instruction every day. All classes were conducted in Adveniat House, the delegation house of the Augustinians of the Assumption in the Philippines at No. 17 C. Salvador Street, Varsity Hills Subdivision, Loyola Heights, Quezon City.

From this initial number, the ALC tripled its population in under a year with language classes offered in English, Filipino, and French. In the Second Cycle of 2010, afternoon classes started to be offered. Courses offered to the students were as diverse as Leadership, Art Appreciation, and Academic Reading and Writing.

The student population continued to grow in its first two years of operation that the College leaders thought it would be better for its expansion to purchase a bigger property and to be used primarily for the classes.

July 2011

In July 2011, ALC moved to its home for 11 years, Galabert House, at No. 11 Regidor Street Varsity Hills Subdivision, Loyola Heights, Quezon City.

The College also expanded by opening a branch in FBR Arcade on Katipunan Avenue for one-to-one classes and other smaller classes.

At Present

In April 2023, ALC move to its new home at No. 3 cannon St. Brgy. Mariana, New Manila , Quezon City.

Majority of ALC’s teachers are TESOL-certified.
It is also strengthening its teaching force by increasing the number of full-time and regular teachers who handle regular classes.

The College has a minimum of 70-90 learners every cycle (three-month long program) from various consecrated religious priests, brothers, sisters, vocation candidates and professional all over the globe.

This year, 13 years after its founding, ALC embarks on migrating all its classes online using various platforms to provide high-quality, skill-based, contextualized language training to its learners.
